Summary: The Director of Strategic Initiatives is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence and advancing CASA’s innovative housing model. This includes oversight of Studios at 2800, a hotel-to-housing initiative operated in partnership with Junction Point LLC and the City of Raleigh, as well as third-party management partnerships with White Oak and Tiny House Village.

This role leads day-to-day operations across multiple sites, ensuring high-quality service delivery, regulatory compliance, and strong stakeholder collaboration, while supporting long-term strategic growth and housing stability outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

  • Lead, supervise, and develop on-site staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
  • Oversee daily operations at Studios at 2800 and provide oversight for third-party managed sites (White Oak and Tiny House Village)
  • Implement systems and processes to improve efficiency, accountability, and service quality

Property & Resident Management

  • Manage the full resident lifecycle: leasing, move-ins, rent collection, re-certifications, and lease enforcement
  • Ensure consistent service standards across all CASA-managed and partner sites
  • Address resident concerns using a trauma-informed, solutions-focused approach

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with all funding and regulatory requirements (HOME, Targeted/Key, RCRS, HUD)
  • Develop and maintain policies aligned with fair housing laws and CASA standards
  • Oversee accurate and timely reporting (occupancy, rent, re-certifications, etc.)

Strategic Initiatives & Growth

  • Identify and evaluate real estate and programmatic growth opportunities
  • Support expansion of CASA’s portfolio, including third-party management partnerships

Collaboration & Partnerships

  • Serve as liaison with Junction Point LLC, City of Raleigh, White Oak, and Tiny House Village
  • Strengthen and manage third-party partnerships to ensure alignment with CASA standards
  • Collaborate with internal teams: BHIT, Fund Development, Real Estate, and Finance

Facilities Coordination

  • Partner with Maintenance to ensure timely repairs, preventative maintenance, and property upkeep

Additional Duties

  • Support organizational initiatives and events
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises approximately 6 employees
  • Responsible for hiring, training, performance management, and staff development

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, Property Management, or related field (preferred)
  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in property management, hospitality, or supportive housing
  • Experience managing multi-site operations and/or third-party partnerships preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

Certifications & Licenses

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Broker-in-Charge (BIC) License preferred (or ability to obtain)
  • Fair Housing or Property Management certification preferred

  • On-site role with responsibilities across multiple housing locations
  • Regular standing, walking, and computer use
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
  • Moderate noise environment; occasional outdoor exposure
