The Director of Marching Band oversees the creation, leadership, and administration of the university's marching band and related ensembles, supporting campus spirit, student engagement, and institutional goals.
- Develops program vision, structure, growth strategies, and organizational culture.
- Recruits and retains student musicians through outreach and collaboration with campus departments.
- Directs rehearsals, performances, and additional ensembles, selecting music and overseeing show design.
- Manages budgets, equipment, travel, and event logistics, ensuring compliance with policies and safety.
- Supervises personnel, including assistant directors and student leaders.
- Represents the university at events and collaborates across departments to support institutional initiatives.
Requires a Bachelor's in Music or related field (Master's preferred), 3-5 years experience, strong leadership skills, and ability to work evenings/weekends. Physical ability to perform outdoor activities and lift equipment is necessary. Must support the university's Catholic mission.
