## Position Summary
The Director of Faculty Development will provide leadership, training and professional development for instructional faculty, both full and part-time. This position will work in conjunction with the Director of Distance Learning, instructional deans, department chairs, and faculty to promoting excellence in teaching and learning and student success through the development and implementation of dynamic professional development programs aligned with the colleges strategic priorities.
Salary: Appropriate placement on ACCS Salary Schedule C-3, Grade I: $70,955 - $103,055
Work Hours: Monday through Thursday, 7:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.; Friday 7:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.

## Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide leadership, coordination, and planning for professional development for full and part-time faculty.
2. Coordinate with the Vice-President for Academic Affairs to establish, implement, and conduct a structured professional development program that includes new faculty onboarding and orientation.
3. Provide leadership and instruction in the Principles of Quality to all staff and faculty members and assist in the identification and completion of quality improvement projects within the College.
4. Work collaboratively with the Vice President for Academic Affairs and instructional deans to research, plan, write, and implement academic policies and proceduresas well as coordinate college-wide teaching and learning initiativesfor the college that are based on nationally recognized best practices, and improve the quality and delivery of academic programs and services.
5. Work closely with the Distance Learning Director in the development and execution of quality distance learning course offerings as well as the development and maintenance of educational technology platforms and tools to support facultyteaching excellenceand student learning.
6. Work closely with the instructional deans to onboard and assist new faculty in building a teaching portfolio for tenure recommendation.
7. Work with Academic Affairs to organize the faculty showcase for Honors Day, the spring Teaching, Learning, and design Conference, and Faculty Excellence Awards.
8. Maintain a system of verification of professional development activities to provide documentation for those individuals who maintain teacher certification.
9. Work in conjunction with the Dual Enrollment Coordinator to provide orientation, training, and evaluation of dual enrollment faculty.
10. Serve as an ex-officio member of the Faculty D velopment Committee and the Staff Development Committee.
11. Work closely with the Office for Institutional Effectiveness and Research to ensure compliance with regional accreditation standards and guidelines.
12. Create and maintain a faculty repository of information and best practices for training and instructional purposes in Canvas.
13. Promote positive morale and ensure adequate internal/external communication.
14. Supervise assigned staff, to include setting appropriate expectations and evaluating performance based on those expectations.
15. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Vice-President for Academic Affairs.
## Qualifications
1. A minimum of a Masters degree from an accredited institution is
required.
2. A minimum of five (5) years experience in teaching or instruction at the postsecondary level is
required.
3. Documented familiarity in instructional design and/or instructional technology is
required.
Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate through their experiences and accomplishments:
Experience in event planning;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
