In the role of Configuration Engineering & Document Control Manager you'll play a pivotal part on our Research Design & Development team. Responsibilities \u2022 Lead the activities of the configuration management engineers and document control personnel to meet program and customer requirements. \u2022 Lead and manage all configuration management related activities and ensure that customer configuration management requirements are implemented \u2022 Manage and support a team of CCB administrators (direct and indirect) division wide to release engineering \u2022 Forecast CCB workload based on engineering release dates for multiple programs. \u2022 Allocate CCB resources in order to reduce release bottlenecks and prevent release delays \u2022 Train and support CCB administrators in the engineering release process \u2022 Review change status accounting activity to ensure compliance with configuration management policies \u2022 Develop, implement and enforce configuration management processes through the organization \u2022 Prepare, review, and approve the documentation required to control engineering data. Support both external and internal customers as required \u2022 Prepare summary reports and metrics of the configuration management process for internal management and the customer \u2022 Perform, evaluate, and refine Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities and processes \u2022 Perform, evaluate, and refine configuration status accounting reporting (CSAR) activities. Recommend and implement improvements \u2022 Responsible for preparing configuration management recurring cost estimates at the proposal phase and during the course of projects \u2022 Collaborate with organization department and Safran leadership to find cost-effective paths to configuration management \u2022 Coordination of training for all employees involved in the engineering release process \u2022 Track and report to engineering managers average release time for each facility \u2022 Monitor and resolve, if necessary, engineering data revision discrepancies \u2022 Maintain release procedure tools specific to customer programs \u2022 Create and maintain procedural documentation for release processes of each customer program \u2022 Create and maintain SmarTeam workflow procedures for both engineering and general segment-wide documents \u2022 Work alongside Engineering Applications Managers to create, maintain, and improve existing customization related to workflows and release procedures. \u2022 Monitors scheduling and department resources to meet/exceed business objectives and goals \u2022 Recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action \u2022 Other duties may be assigned
Job Requirements
Qualifications: Education: BS or BA degree in Business Management, Engineering or equivalent in a related field (e.g. Information Systems) required. Experience: 7 years related experience in configuration management. Experience in the aviation industry is preferred. Minimum of 21 years of leadership experience Computer Skills: \u2022 Strong knowledge of PLM systems (Product Life Cycle Management) \u2022 Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) \u2022 Strong knowledge of MRP systems \u2022 Good knowledge of SmarTeam, Other Skills: \u2022 Experience working with OEM \u2022 Experience with industrialization processes and supply chain interactions \u2022 Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings \u2022 Experience coaching and managing a team of engineers including conducting annual performance reviews \u2022 Excellent organization and communication skills \u2022 Business acumen to assist in establishing budgets, providing program health metrics to management, make recommendations for resourcing programs \u2022 Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally \u2022 Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills \u2022 Ability to motivate team efforts to accomplish goals \u2022 Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions \u2022 Ability to develop, implement and monitor corrective action plans \u2022 Strong planning and organizational skills. \u2022 Knowledge of basic engineering information flow and concept \u2022 Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and assignments with attention to detail Additional Preferred Skills: (not required) \u2022 Good working knowledge of CATIA V5 & Smarteam preferred \u2022 Knowledge of databases is preferred \u2022 Black Belt Six Sigma Description: Mid-level This job posting has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by an employee within this position.
