JOB SUMMARY 5 North Hospitalists General Medicine Observation Unit is a very fast-paced environment seeing a wide range of patients, such as:

• Chest pain with possible interventional needs
• Outpatient surgical procedures requiring minimal post-operative monitoring
• Respiratory illnesses with low oxygen demand needs
• General medicine patients

The medical management of our Observation Patients is that all tests and procedures are completed within 24 hours, which is what creates such a fast-paced environment. The most enjoyable part of the job of caring for Observation Patients is that most patients are ambulatory and independent or with minimum assistance. If you are someone that likes something different every single day, this would be the BEST place for you.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training/Experience

• REQUIRED: High School Diploma or Equivalent or be of at least 16 years of age with an active C.N.A. certification.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Must be one of the following: NA for PCASNA or PCT.

C.N.A / PCA / SNA

• Must have completed one of the following Patient Care Experiences:
• Completed a C.N.A. Program
• Completed at least sophomore year of a nursing program

License/Certifications/Special Requirements

• Certified Nursing Assistant certification in good standing on the state Nurse Aide Registry.
• Certified Medical Assistant or EMS.
• NA for PCAs/SNAs or PCT.
