Advantage Metals Recycling LLC, a division of Nucor, is hiring a Class A CDL Driver in Kansas City, Kansas. This position is responsible for safely operating roll-off trucks and tractor-trailers to transport materials while maintaining compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a valid Class A CDL, at least 3 years of verifiable CDL-A driving experience, a clean driving record, and strong knowledge of transportation safety procedures.

Job Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL license required
    • Minimum age of 25 years old
    • Minimum 3 years of verifiable CDL-A driving experience within a 5-year period
    • Clean driving record with strong commitment to safety and compliance
    • Ability to pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
    • Ability to communicate effectively in English
    • Knowledge and experience using ELD systems
    • Strong attendance, dependability, and time management skills
    • Ability to comply with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company regulations
    • Roll-off truck experience preferred
    • Hydraulic systems knowledge and experience preferred
    • Must provide complete employment history, including job titles, dates, responsibilities, and explanations for employment gaps

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including roll-off trucks and tractor-trailers
    • Transport materials and goods to designated locations safely and on schedule
    • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
    • Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery records, and transportation documentation
    • Ensure all cargo is properly secured and transported safely
    • Follow all DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety regulations and procedures
    • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members
    • Maintain a clean and professional vehicle and work environment
    • Support operational efficiency through reliable attendance and safe driving practices
