A bit about us:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consulting Bookkeeper to join our team in the Construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. This role involves working closely with our financial management team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments. Our ideal candidate holds a Finance degree (preferably followed by accounting CPE courses) and is familiar with accounting software packages, like QuickBooks Online ERP.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile bank statements and calculate tax payments and returns.
  • Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliation.
  • Maintain and update accounting records by performing duties such as recording and posting transactions in ledgers, preparing financial statements, and reconciling accounts.
  • Allocate insurance costs across various projects and departments.
  • Track Notice to Owner (NTO) to ensure all lien rights are protected.
  • Support with Employee Onboarding and benefits administration.
  • Assist in the development of budgets or forecasts.
  • Participate in preparation for the annual audit.
  • Collaborate with the financial team to ensure all financial operations are accurate and effective.
  • Use advanced Excel functions such as v-look ups and pivot tables to process and analyze data.
  • Provide solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within the Commercial Construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel (v-look ups, pivot tables) and QuickBooks Online ERP.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a strong plus.
  • Experience with Employee Onboarding and benefits support is desired.
