The Poultry Science department of Auburn University is seeking candidates for the position of Associate Director. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the processing plant activities of the Miller Poultry Research and Education Center. These responsibilities will include directing and coordinating the work of staff and facilitating research, teaching, and extension activities within the center. The individual selected will be responsible to operate a “state of the art” processing plant and develop standard operation procedures for safety and sanitation to ensure research integrity.
Responsibilities:Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based upon departmental needs and may include the following:
- animal production studies
- feed mill experiments
- poultry processing projects
- management of staff
- coordination and logistics of education and research activities
- facilitation of industry workshops
- maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations and Auburn University policies
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business, Management, Business, or related field
AND
5 years of experience in agricultural operations and/or agricultural research with progressively increasing levels of responsibility and accountability.
