Great River Care Center is seeking a Part-Time with the potential for Full-time Director of Nursing for Assisted Living to provide clinical oversight and support safe, high-quality care for our Assisted Living tenants.

This is a great opportunity for an RN who enjoys working with older adults, supporting caregivers, and using strong clinical judgment in a more flexible, part-time role. The Administrator will oversee overall facility operations, while this position will focus primarily on nursing oversight, tenant assessments, service plans, delegations, documentation, and staff support.

Responsibilities

  • Complete tenant assessments and reassessments
  • Assist with individualized service plans
  • Complete and monitor nurse delegations
  • Provide clinical guidance and education to Assisted Living staff
  • Support staff competency and safe care practices
  • Assess tenant responses to medications, treatments, and changes in condition
  • Communicate with tenants, families, providers, pharmacy, and care partners as needed
  • Assist with move-ins, transfers, discharges, and level-of-care reviews
  • Identify concerns and follow up appropriately
  • Maintain accurate documentation and support regulatory compliance
  • Work cooperatively with the Administrator and leadership team

    Requirements

  • Current RN license in the State of Iowa required
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
  • Long-term care, assisted living, geriatric, or supervisory experience helpful
  • Strong communication, assessment, documentation, and follow-through skills
  • Ability to work independently and support staff in a respectful, practical manner
  • Comfort with electronic health records and basic computer systems
  • Willingness to complete required Assisted Living and facility-provided training

Schedule may vary based on assessments, delegations, tenant needs, staff support, and required follow-up.

Why Join Great River Care Center?

  • This role is a good fit for an RN who wants meaningful clinical responsibility without a traditional full-time management schedule. You’ll have the opportunity to make a direct impact on tenant care, support a small team, and help maintain a safe, respectful Assisted Living environment.
