ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists in smoothing surfaces and removes old paint from surfaces to prepare surfaces for painting. • Assists in filing nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler. • Assists in removing fixtures such as pictures and electric switch covers from walls prior to painting. • Assists in spreading drop cloths over floors and room furnishing and covers surfaces such as baseboards, doorframes, and windows with masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting. • Assists in painting surfaces with brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers. • Assists in applying paint with cloth brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effects. • Assists with erecting scaffolding or setting up ladders to perform tasks above ground level. • Assists in washing surfaces prior to painting with mildew remover. • Drives District vehicles to and from work site, obeys all traffic laws. • Strives continually to promote the safety, health, and comfort of students and employees in the performance of duties. • Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties. • Maintains confidentiality. • Maintains a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all District employees. • Maintains professional growth by attending in-service and meetings as requested or required. • Performs any other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Director.
