This part-time internship offers an opportunity to support municipal government operations by assisting with research, policy analysis, project coordination, and community engagement within the City Manager's Office.
Interns will perform tasks such as drafting policy memos, compiling data, reviewing agenda packets, and analyzing operational procedures to recommend improvements. They will gain exposure to public administration, municipal finance, and community outreach, working under supervision with varying responsibilities based on experience.
Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant fields such as Public Administration, Political Science, Urban Studies, or related disciplines. The position requires strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a valid Texas ID. Physical and environmental demands are minimal, mostly office-based with occasional outdoor work. The internship pays hourly, without benefits, and involves background checks and drug testing.
