Accounting Operations Specialist — Governmental & Corporate GL

Do month-end closes energize you? Are you equally fluent in governmental and corporate accounting? Can you move seamlessly between QuickBooks Ledger, customized accounting software, and payroll touchpoints—while keeping the general ledger spotless? If yes, you may be the Accounting Operations Specialist we’re looking for.

In this role, you’ll report to the Accounting Manager and influence corporate financial reporting across every internal and external program. You’ll build reliable financial narratives through meticulous creation, analysis, reconciliation, and maintenance of data.

Your Mission

Elevate financial integrity by owning the general ledger, driving disciplined close processes, and informing leadership with rigorous analysis. Imagine this: mid-close, you reconcile key balance sheet accounts, partner with the budgeting team to true-up forecasts, and consult our CPA for GAAP research on a new standard—then deliver a clean, consolidated financial package on deadline.

In Your First Months, You’ll

• Deliver monthly and consolidated financial statements within tight timelines.
• Perform monthly account analyses and reconciliations; resolve discrepancies to protect GL accuracy.
• Run program plan analyses, forecasting profitability, cost benefits, and resource needs.
• Lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives that modernize financial reporting.
• Provide analytical reviews to the Director of Finance and Owner Partners.
• Support acquisition-related accounting integrations for smooth transitions.
• Coordinate with reporting, budgeting, and forecasting teams; adapt as objectives evolve.
• Stay current on accounting rules and collaborate with our CPA on GAAP research.
• Review and reconcile AR specific to governmental clients.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; or 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience working with Executive and Senior Management.
• Proven leadership to motivate diverse teams.
• Adaptability in changing priorities and activities.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Work Setting

• Standard office hours fall between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
• Occasional evening or weekend commitments may be needed.
• Minimal travel.
