Medical Devices - Sr Process & Development Engineer-1903

Description

One of our major Clients in the Western region of the US is looking for various Process and Development Engineers to be responsible for balancing and bringing in new technologies for the projects and programs on the company's pipeline, with more focus on NPD working close to the design and operations teams to outline, develop and validating the processes. Based in Seattle, WA, Keltia has been in business for over 20 years and in Europe for over 9 years

Main Responsibilities

New product development practices, design and validation to launch new products to market. Specifies detailed new product functional requirements; designs, tests and integrates components to generate final designs; and evaluates the design's overall parameters such as (effectiveness, cost, reliability and safety).

Team player with good communication skills to liaise with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability.

Uses of CAD or CAE systems to model new designs and elaborate detailed engineering drawings.

This is a technical role that requires deep knowledge from a professional thought leader in their respective field or discipline. This position typically requires extensive experience in a specialized field and an advanced college degree or equivalent. As a key expert, the job requires in-depth knowledge and understanding within one discipline and strong analytical skills as well as evaluative judgement based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complicated or novel situations. The complexity implied at this level of problem solving relates to the ability to filter, prioritize, analyze and validate potentially complex and dynamic material.

The Senior Staff R&D Engineer will work with team of engineers and technicians to develop the relevant processes and technologies required to launch new products. This will include maintaining detailed Procedures, drawings, schematics or specifications using computer-aided design software.

Working cross-functionally will be a key part of the role in order to facilitate successful launches of new neurovascular devices to treat stroke.

You should be able to apply engineering and scientific rationale along with the application of methodical problem solving and data analysis techniques to provide direction to address technical issues.

Travel will be required from time to time in order to assess potential vendors, visit Divisional headquarters in California to present out on project status and complete technical reviews or meet with sales and marketing personnel or physicians in order to improve product knowledge.

Requirement

  • Bachelor in Engineering or related discipline. Higher level degree is preferred and would be considered toward years of experience.
  • 5-8 years' experience in similar roles and some of that in a highly regulated industry in polymers, resins, neurovascular in medical devices/pharmaceutical industries.
  • Capability to develop strategies and execute to plan.
  • Capability to work both independently as an individual contributor as well as lead cross functional teams.
