Metro Infectious Disease Consultants

Private Healthcare - Health Services 12 Active Jobs

In 1994, Metro Infectious Disease Consultants (MIDC) was established with 8 infectious disease physicians working in the Chicago area. Based on the philosophy that strategic growth and market neutrality would optimize patient care and physician lifestyle, MIDC has grown to be the largest infectious disease group in the country.

At the present time, MIDC is composed of over 70 infectious disease physicians working at over 100 hospitals in 6 states. Outpatient antibiotic therapy is available at each of the offices and a Hospital Avoidance Program has been implemented.

Besides geographic diversity, MIDC strives to provide infectious disease services to the full spectrum of healthcare venues including long term acute care hospitals and long term care facilities as well as acute care hospitals.

With a fully functional infrastructure MIDC is able and willing to make services available to other infectious disease groups. These include billing, collection, scheduling, human resources, contracting, access to EMR, and capital investment.

Thank you for your interest in MIDC and we look forward to working with you.

As the nation's largest infectious disease group, MIDC has unparalleled access to the cutting-edge treatments, pharmaceuticals, and technologies that are revolutionizing patient care.

In addition to our 70+ on-staff physicians, we provide services through more than 100 hospitals and a nationwide network of carefully screened affiliates. These partners work closely with MIDC on case management and treatment, enhancing their infectious disease acumen while improving patient care.

MIDC is seeking new affiliates to support its national offerings and geographic position. In addition to gaining the recognition of our brand, an affiliate relationship with MIDC offers:
  • Extended purchasing power through new economies of scale
  • The ability to eliminate non-core organizational processes by tapping our billing, collections, scheduling, marketing, electronic medical records (EMR), and human resources functions
  • Access to additional technologies without new capital investments
  • Connection to experts on new insurance regulations as set out in the Affordable Care Act and other mandates
  • Increased physician and facility capacity, by shifting workloads to MIDC and other affiliates when needed
  • The ability to compete for national contracting opportunities
  • Increased revenue streams and profitability
