Herbalife (NYSE:HLF) will be the official nutrition sponsor of the Lidingoloppet cross country race in Sweden, the world's largest cross country race.

The race takes place September 22nd - 24th when approximately 30,000 runners from around the globe come to take part in the three-day sport festival held on the Lidingo island outside Stockholm.

More than 300 Herbalife staff and independent distributors will take part in the event as well as offer sampling opportunities for participants and spectators.

The Lidingoloppet, or 'Lidingo Run' is an event where everyone participates with a different personal challenge -- some to win, some to improve on last year and some to just enjoy a great day out. It attracts thousands of spectators.

All the races are held over one long weekend, with categories including a 30km men's race, a 10km for women, a 1.7km and 4km course, a relay race for male, female and mixed teams, and a children's course.

Nordic region director Borre Gjersvik said: "As a key worldwide sporting event and one of the best known in Sweden, we are delighted to be involved in Lidingoloppet. This sponsorship is one of a series of similar alliances around the world that is taking the Herbalife name to a much more diverse audience than ever before and underlining our commitment as a company committed to healthy active lifestyles."

Herbalife is also the official nutrition sponsor of the London Michelob ULTRA Triathlon, Nautica Malibu Triathlon, Laguna Phuket Triathlon and participated in Trofeu Brasil de Triathlon in 2005. The company also sponsors UK-based triathlete Olly Freeman and U.S. triathlete Erika Aklufi. Other major sponsorships include the AVP Pro Volleyball Tournament, LA Galaxy, Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis Tournament and the Tour of California, among others.
