Retail Merchandiser

Sell services to individuals or businesses. May describe options or resolve client problems.

Sell merchandise, such as furniture, motor vehicles, appliances, or apparel to consumers.

Interact with customers to provide basic or scripted information in response to routine inquiries about products and services. May handle and resolve general complaints. Excludes individuals whose duties are primarily installation, sales, repair, and technical support.

Apply knowledge of current product trends and customer behavior to generate sales through the creation of eye-catching product displays and marketing campaigns. May be responsible for handling supply chain concerns, monitoring inventory levels, and managing customer issues.

Perform routine administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, or providing information to callers.

Plan, direct, or coordinate the actual distribution or movement of a product or service to the customer. Coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals and establish training programs for sales representatives. Analyze sales statistics gathered by staff to determine sales potential and inventory requirements and monitor the preferences of customers.

Interact with customers, business executives, and stakeholders while managing and preparing sales reports. Responsible for identifying new business opportunities and assisting customers with their needs.

Receive and disburse money in establishments other than financial institutions. May use electronic scanners, cash registers, or related equipment. May process credit or debit card transactions and validate checks.

This role ensures that the commitments made to the sales representative are being met by the different managers to ensure maximum product visibility. Ability to drive a vehicle and move as well as carry 25-lbs. regularly and 50-lbs occasionally. This includes moving the stock to the store shelves and stocking products. Work with sales representatives to optimize the visibility of products and any promotional displays. Previous retail or grocery experience is a plus. An extroverted personality with an ability to engage store managers is a plus. Tidying up shelves and displays and working with store staff to ensure that merchandise is displayed as per agreed conditions.
