Line-Haul Driver

Drive a tractor-trailer combination or a truck with a capacity of at least 26,001 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). May be required to unload truck. Requires commercial drivers' license. Includes tow truck drivers.

Pick up and deliver messages, documents, packages, and other items between offices or departments within an establishment or directly to other business concerns, traveling by foot, bicycle, motorcycle, automobile, or public conveyance.

Transport different types of goods from one location to another, such as a distribution center to a customer location. Operate large vehicles making sure all safety measures are followed. Inspect vehicles mechanical aspects, assist with loading and unloading, manage paperwork and stay informed about routes that will be driven. Work as as an independent contractor or for an employer.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must possess and maintain a clean driver’s record with no major accidents in the past year. Ability to use the company software for documentation of deliveries. Must have sound knowledge of the routes and rush hour traffic of the city. Ability to lift and carry up to 35-lbs multiple times a day, to and from the vehicle. Provide transport and delivery for company-related personnel and merchandise within the city. May be required to go to other cities occasionally. Maintain and operate the company-provided vehicle with care. Complete shipment/transport logs at every destination and adhere to all legal and federal regulations.

This is a contractor role. The contractor must own, maintain, and operate a truck/box truck or straight truck. Must possess and maintain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) to be eligible. Should be open for long haul routes and driving on weekends occasionally. May need to deliver freight or RVs and travel trailers to destinations across the US. Open to traveling to Canada. Be aware of all legal regulations at the local and state level. Follow all safety and regal requirements during the duration of the job.

Collect and dump refuse or recyclable materials from containers into truck. May drive truck.

Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of public or private sector organizations, overseeing multiple departments or locations. Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources, but are too diverse and general in nature to be classified in any one functional area of management or administration, such as personnel, purchasing, or administrative services. Usually manage through subordinate supervisors. Excludes First-Line Supervisors.

As a certified Forklift Operator, you will offload and load freight shipments into and from trucks, city trailers and other containers. This includes use of pallet jacks to handle and correctly place shipments that may include hazardous or easy-to-break materials. Following all safety and operation guidelines or regulations is fundamental. May require certification and experience using various forklift types and sizes, as well as other warehouse equipment.
