Algebra Instructor

Contract teaching opportunity to instruct students on a specific topic for a specified duration of time. Prepare and execute lesson plans, select appropriate textbooks/learning materials, lead in-class discussions, and assign appropriate assignments. Assess and assign respective student grades and facilitate reporting. Ownership of student’s learning outcomes. Understand and address all student’s questions and particular learning needs. Provide students with personalized assistance to cultivate topic proficiency. Successfully communicate with faculty, staff, and students.

Introduce, present, and guide respective students on individualized learning topics. Prepare and execute lesson plans, select appropriate textbooks/learning materials, craft corresponding student study guide/syllabus to teach and enrich learning on a specific topic. Understand and address all students' questions and particular learning needs. Provide students with personalized assistance to cultivate topic proficiency.

Develops, updates, and delivers lessons plans. Should be able to use preplanned lesson plans to deliver lectures. Explain the theory to students. May need to explain practice as well. Monitor student performance and provide counseling and support to help increase their performance. Update the curriculum and lesson plans when needed. Provide support to colleagues and work as part of a team to evaluate students. Use student evaluations to target underperforming students and employ strategies to support all students.

Prepare educational content and plan activities that promote comprehension and retention of information. Typically requires assessing student performance, communicating with caregivers, creating lesson plans, preparing and issuing progress reports, presenting and demonstrating new content, and sourcing supplies. May require traveling for fieldtrips and complying with specialized educational plans.

Teach theory and practice to students. Work with students of different abilities to ensure no one is left behind. Design and plan new study sessions. Organize and deliver pre-planned sessions. Update and improve on existing study plans. Motivate and counsel students to develop better study habits and skills in the subject material. Conduct student evaluations and collaborate with team members, students, and stakeholders to improve performance. Perform other teaching admin-related duties as needed. Provide input in improving and updating student curriculum and follow best teaching practices.
