Gaps on your resume

Are there gaps in your work history? Here's how to talk to employers about what you were doing when you weren't working.

Our work histories don't all look the same. Some of us focused on education before entering the workforce while others incorporated it into their professional development later. Some of us left for a period of time to take care of family or loved ones. Others traveled or changed careers, which may have left gaps on a resume. No matter what you were doing when you weren't working, employers want to know about the choices you made and how that's impacted your career up to this point.
