Christian Lane CareerBuilder

EACH WEEK, WE’RE CELEBRATING A DIFFERENT CAREERBUILDER TEAM MEMBER AND SHARING THEIR STORIES, CAREER TIPS, AND MORE.

Christian Lane is a key account executive for Broadbean, a part of the CareerBuilder group. He is based in Australia and has been with the company for three years. Get to know him and learn about his professional journey here.

Q: Tell us about your job! What do you do? What does a typical day look like in your role?

A: I’m a key account executive for Broadbean, based in Sydney, Australia. I am responsible for sourcing new business across the APAC region. My day-to-day is pretty simple; it consists of software demos, discussions around HR Tech Stack pain points, and negotiating use of the office chair with my cat. I never win! The cat’s too cute, I can’t move him.

Q: How has your career grown since starting at Broadbean?

A: Pretty quickly! After starting in the UK sales team operating within the staffing agency space, I’m now achieving great things as a senior BD in the Sydney office. I can safely say this has been one of the best leaps of faith I could have ever done with my career.

Q: What is your favorite Broadbean memory, and why?

A: This is a difficult one, I have had so many great memories here both London and Sydney. Anyone who has spent time with the Bean Team will know being a hoot is part of the DNA!

Best memory, however, would be the 2019 UK “Christmas Desk Championships.” There was no hiding the competitive nature of the teams; people got really creative! We ended up recreating Coca Cola’s Christmas truck.

Q: What are your favorite hobbies?

A: Pretty much anything dance-related. Anything from salsa to the electric slide, big fan of a boogie.

Q: What was your first job?

A: After three months of college, I decided it wasn’t for me. The day I left I got a job selling double glazing windows door to door for Anglian Home Improvements (any Brits would understand 😊). They’re a great organization to teach resilience!
