CareerBuilder.com kicks off the year by launching its exclusive alliance with MSN on January 1. CareerBuilder.com delivers leading recruitment and job searching services to the millions who visit the MSN Careers Channel.

Takes Over as Industry Leader
CareerBuilder.com surpasses competitors in job search traffic and moves into the leadership position for the online recruitment industry. The company more than doubles its traffic over the last year and commands around 45 percent of market share for job postings - the highest in the industry. Accelerated expansion efforts coupled with state-of-the-art technology and a steadfast commitment to its users makes CareerBuilder.com the preferred choice.

Building government solutions
CareerBuilder.com launches government solutions group to deliver specialized recruitment solutions to federal, state and local agencies and organizations.

New Leadership
Matt Ferguson is appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of CareerBuilder.com. Former CEO Bob Montgomery is appointed Chairman of the company's Board of Directors.

CareerBuilder.com launches an aggressive multimillion-dollar "A better job awaits" marketing campaign to drive job seeker traffic and boost brand recognition. The company reaches millions of job seekers via a combination of local radio, print, interactive and outdoor ads, as well as ads airing on cable and national network television and high-profile events including the Super Bowl, Academy Awards, Grammy Awards and NCAA Final Four.

Monkey Business
CareerBuilder.com's Super Bowl debut is a resounding success, drawing more than 150 million media impressions and numerous awards. All three of CareerBuilder.com's chimp advertisements airing during the Super Bowl earn a spot on the Top 10 list in USA TODAY's Ad Meter. In addition, one spot is named "Funniest Commercial of the Year" in TBS's annual poll and is included in CBS's "The Forty Greatest Super Bowl Commercials" special.

CareerBuilder.com network retains its two-year position as industry leader, reporting record traffic with over 20 million unique visitors – 5 million more than its largest competitor – and more than 1 million jobs, according to comScore Media Metrix data.

McClatchy On Board
McClatchy acquires its ownership position in CareerBuilder.com following the completion of its purchase of Knight Ridder. The addition of the McClatchy newspapers combined with those of existing partners, Gannett and Tribune, makes the CareerBuilder network of 1,100 partners stronger and even more competitive.

Overseas Expansions
CareerBuilder.com continued its global expansion, launching sites in the UK, Canada and India and partnering with major players such as 51job, Naukri and Lycos Canada.

The Return of the Chimps
CareerBuilder.com's infamous chimps returned to the Super Bowl with applause from critics and consumers. Monk-e-Mail becomes one of the most successful viral campaigns around with more than 80 million played and 12 million unique visitors.

CareerRookie.com
CareerBuilder launches a new job site tailor-made for college students and alumni. Equipped with special search capabilities, CareerRookie.com provides instant access to jobs matching the student's major, experience level, skills and interests.

Product Innovations

The new creative is part of a fully-integrated, national marketing program valued at over $250 million that includes high profile events such as the Super Bowl; primetime network and cable television flights; online advertising, local print and sports sponsorships.

Social Networks
Under a unique agreement, CareerBuilder.com and Facebook help employers tap into a pool of more than 100 million potential candidates worldwide for recruitment. Among the offerings, which include "featured employer" spots on CareerBuilder's own Facebook page, CareerBuilder sells targeted media campaigns to clients who want to promote their job opportunities to specific audiences on Facebook.

Job Search on the Go
CareerBuilder.com adds a whole new level of convenience and accessibility to job hunting. Using the iPhone’s built-in geolocation technology, the CareerBuilder.com application “Jobs” automatically determines the city you are standing in and then allows you to find nearby opportunities using a simple keyword search.

Global Footprint Growing
In addition to acquiring Lesjeudis.com, the largest independent job site in France, CareerBuilder.com quickly expands its international presence with MSN. Through its overall operations and partnership network, CareerBuilder.com now has access to 38 countries.

WorkInRetail.com Launches
CareerBuilder.com launched WorkInRetail.com, a site that specifically connects job seekers with retail employers. WorkInRetail.com allows job seekers to search opportunities by category, location and position and to apply for jobs, learn more about retail careers, explore education opportunities and get career advice.

Consulting Service
In response to increased demands from Fortune 1000 clients for integrated talent management solutions, CareerBuilder.com launches Personified, an independent consulting firm specializing in recruitment, talent optimization and retention strategies.

Specialized Sites
Adding to its targeted job search sites for college students and Hispanic workers, CareerBuilder.com launches PrimeCB.com, a site tailored to the job hunting and career management needs of retirees and mature workers.

Global Presence Grows
CareerBuilder continued to extend its international reach, launching sites in China, Denmark and Poland in 2009. CareerBuilder now operates in 18 countries. These sites, combined with partnerships and other acquisitions, give CareerBuilder a presence in 55 countries worldwide.

More Specialized Sites
CareerBuilder added to its ever-growing list of targeted job search sites, with the launch of www.goinggreenjobs.com, a site aimed at connecting employers with environmentally conscious job seekers. Talent Network
CareerBuilder introduced a whole new way to recruit with a solution that stands alone in the industry. We're leveraging more than 12 years of experience matching candidates with jobs and 15 billion points of job search data to help employers build an exclusive pipeline of passive and active candidates. The solution has multiple engagement features such job distribution across the web, social media, SEO, CRM, personalized job recommendations, mobile-friendly career sites and more to help employers connect with talent in a relevant and action-provoking way.

Work@
CareerBuilder launched a Facebook application that is helping companies to turn up the volume on their employee referral programs and cut down on time and money spent on recruitment. CareerBuilder’s new Work@ application leverages a company’s most productive recruitment asset - its employees - and enables them to share open jobs at their company with personal and professional contacts within their Facebook network.

Compensation Portal
CareerBuilder launched a new Compensation Portal, which provides real-time data to employers based on education, experience, industry, location and company size. The portal has access to 25% of the U.S. workforce annually and 45,000 employers’ salary information. It’s a new way to look at salary information and is part of a growing suite of solutions.

Launch of Miracle Workers and Jobs on the Menu
CareerBuilder continued to expand our penetration in niche markets with the launch of two new sites. MiracleWorkers.com, a site that connects health care organizations and qualified workers and JobsOnTheMenu.com, a site that connects job seekers and restaurant/food service employers.

2011

Traffic leadership
On the heels of seven consecutive years of traffic leadership in the U.S., CareerBuilder kicked off 2011 with one of the highest Careers traffic months in category history. More than 25.7 million unique visitors came to the CareerBuilder Network in January 2011, the highest in the industry, according to comScore Media Metrix data.

Super Bowl: Bringing Back the Monkeys
CareerBuilder’s beloved chimpanzees returned to the company’s 2011 Super Bowl commercial. CareerBuilder’s return to the Super Bowl ad lineup for the seventh consecutive year kicks off a national, integrated campaign that incorporates old favorites with exciting new twists and new elements never seen before.

Launch of Supply/Demand Portal
CareerBuilder launched a Supply/Demand portal, which pulls data from national employment resources to identify occupations and corresponding markets with the greatest supply and under-supply of candidates. This intelligence helps to cut down on time and money spent on reaching hard-to-find talent.
