Job Requirements

Examples of typical responsibilities include:

  • Receiving inbound calls from shareholders and financial advisors across the country
  • Helping callers manage their mutual fund accounts by completing on-line account transactions, such as investments, redemptions, and account maintenance
  • Educating callers on American Funds’ services and broader industry policies
  • Researching and resolving customer inquiries in a timely manner
  • Providing telephone support to website users

Hiring Criteria:

  • Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to gather and assess information in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong detail orientation
  • Ability to apply considerable amounts of information
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team oriented environment
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency with Excel
  • Knowledge of Financial Services industry
  • The ability to learn complex information quickly.
    Flexibility to work additional hours as needed
  • Experience in a call center environment a plus
  • Prior customer service experience with retirement plans is a plus
