Job Description

Career Personnel Service, Montgomery's oldest staffing agency, is currently seeking a Legal Secretary for a law firm located in Montgomery, AL.  Responsibilities will include the following:
  • Typing correspondence, memoranda, complaints, motions, subpoenas, depositions and briefs
  • Responsible for maintaining files and indexes
  • Recording trail information, dates, pleas, convictions, acquittals, sentences and other dispositions
  • Filing documents on behalf of the Attorneys
  • Preparing calendars for court
  • Preparing reports for court
  • Dictation and transcribing
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision

Job Requirements

Requirements for the Legal Secretary position include but not limited to the following:

  • Minimum 5+ years of recent legal experience.  No exceptions
  • Ability to type a minimum of 60+ wpm. 
  • Previous experience in general litigation
  • Medical Malpractice experience a plus
