We are currently seeking  a  Assistant Residential Manager for our new residential program in Manhattan (1. West 129th St.). - This is an 8 bed IRA.
JOB DESCRIPTION

The Assistant Residence Manager reports directly to the Manager of the program. Responsible for providing oversight of a community residence serving persons with developmental disabilities.  The normal shift for our Assistant Manager will be five days per week (including one weekend day) from noon or 1pm - 8pm or 9pm.  Forty hours per week, exempt status.

 

QUALIFICATIONS        
*           High School Diploma or equivalent, some college preferred

*           At least two years experience working with persons with developmental disabilities in a residential  setting

*           Valid NYS driver’s license

*          At least six months supervisory experience

*          Good written and communication skills

*         Some working knowledge of OPWDD rules and regs

Job Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO            

*           Twenty-four hour accessibility through beeper and/or telephone.

*           Assist with scheduling, personnel related issues, training of staff and other delegated tasks.

*           On-going supervision of residential staff.

*          Provide assistance and instruction for each resident in basic activities of daily living.

*          Provide training and support for each resident in accordance with individual program plan.

*           Successful completion of the AMAP course and annual recertification for administration purposes.

*           Drive agency vans and demonstrates safe driving practices. Participate in agency driver safety course.
 *          Ensure cleanliness of vehicles. Address any maintenance issues.

*          Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment.

*           Proper use and maintenance of household equipment and appliances.

*            Attendance at all required meetings.

*            Ensure for adherence to agency quality standards of operation.

*           Assist individuals in planning, coordinating and attending community integration/inclusion activities within their homes and community.

*           Perform other duties as assigned.
