Project Controls Specialist

Under occasional leadership,

  • Create and analyzes Funding Project and Detail Project number in PowerPlant. Supports other Powerplant processes such as entering In Service dates and following current practices. Supports process to obtain asset location ID numbers as needed.
  • Create eMax substation work order numbers and maintains work order dates in eMax. Work with engineers to maintain work order status and process flow
  • Compiles, organizes, verifies, analyzes and prepares a variety of financial information and data for Project Management and Controls to support the Major Capital Project Portfolio, satisfy Partner Requests and assist with customer billing.
  • Work with Primavera Scheduling software project data to understand impact to Capital projects and relationship to eMax and Powerplant.
  • Uses various computer applications such as Business Objects, Powerplant, MSOffice and web tools and eforms.
  • Creates and assists in the creation of various material and/or financial reports as requested. 
  • Performs a wide variety of tasks of a financial/accounting nature. 
  • Prepare analysis of detail projects compared to actual costs and closing of projects.
  • Must exhibit good judgment, be able to set work- related priorities and make effective business decisions. Must be able to work independently.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in business, accounting, economics, engineering, or combination of equivalent education and experience will be considered
  • Two to four years related work experience in financial operations or experience in Powerplant.
  • Valid drivers license 
  • Demonstrated advanced MS Excel skills required
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, and strong conceptual and analytical skills.
