Software Engineer / Environmental - Air monitoring technology /  NEW JERSEY

 

Exciting opportunity for to work with a progressive, well established & profitable  OEM company that deals with industrial air quality / monitoring  technology. This strategic position will report to the Software Product Manger. You will need to be high energy – highly self motivated in your professional abilities with multitasking several duties & responsibilities for the following:

 

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design & programming of proprietary data acquisition system application in Visual Basic.NET and ASP.NET.

  • Design & implementation of client transition plan from existing application version to new version, including database & configuration conversion.  Includes coding of tools and utilities to automate transition.

  • Design & programming of repairs, modifications and enhancements to existing Visual Basic.NET application.

  • Troubleshooting & repairing existing Visual Basic.NET and ASP.NET code.

  • Data Acquisition System testing.

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Training of clients and in-house personnel.

  • Generate and maintain technical & programming documentation.

  • 24/7 telephone/modem support of installed software.

  • Software field service.

  • Other appropriate duties as assigned by your supervisor.

  • Some light overnight Travel is required.

           

Job Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

  • 2-5 years programming experience in Visual Basic .NET  and  ASP.NET

  • Object Oriented Programming  / SQL and Access database experience.

  • Web Forms, Win Forms, Web Service and WCF.

  • Good troubleshooting/problem solving skills.

  • Willingness to travel (some overnight travel, occasional weekends).

  • Good verbal & written communication skills / work with little or no supervision

  • Must pass drug/alcohol screening and physical exam.

  • Must have valid drivers license and good driving record.

  • Subject to random and scheduled drug screenings.

     

PREFERENCES:

  • Dev Express, CSS, HTML and XML.

  • Ability to read system schematics.

  • PLC experience.

  • Data acquisition experience.

  • Project Management experience or SDLC.

  • Basic wiring skills.
