STNA - State Tested Nursing Assistant


The State Tested Nurse Assistant (STNA) renders direct care to the residents of the facility. STNAs must conduct themselves in accordance with the facility’s mission and values. The STNA reports directly to the Team Leader.



  • Demonstrates the Humility of Mary Health Partner’s Mission and values of compassion, excellence, human dignity, justice, sacredness of life and service. Interact with residents through administering direct care while enhancing the resident’s quality of life. Helps each resident to achieve the highest level of functioning.
  • Supervise, set up, assist or provide the resident with ADLMaintain a safe environment for residents and other employees.
  • Responsible for documentation to verify that service care was rendered.
  • Monitors equipment
  • Reports changes in resident condition, behavior or performance of ADLs to Team Leader/Charge nurse.
  • Takes direction from Team Leader/Charge Nurse, Unit Manager, Supervisor, Case Manager or any member of the interdisciplinary team making recommendations for the residents care.
  • Attends in-services to acquire required hours (12 hours annually) to maintain certification


Job Requirements

STNA - State Tested Nursing Assistant

  • Must have taken the written and practical certification test and passed both areas and is currently listed on the Ohio Nurse Aide Registry
  • Maintain CPR Certification
  • Must have High School Diploma or GED
