Account Manager

Job Description

A leading worldwide producer of Inorganic specialty chemicals and catalysts has an immediate need for a Territory Manager to manage and continue to develop existing customer account business and relationships, identify and develop new business with direct end-users and through distribution channels. The successful candidate will be home-office based in or around the following midwest states:  Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.  
 

The ideal candidate will have proven experience handling a sales territory with multiple accounts, used to dealing with technical/chemical based products, particularly inorganic materials. They will be responsible for coordinating all necessary activities to ensure customer satisfaction, product education and information flow to customers to facilitate additional business growth. Candidate will need to have timely and clear communications concerning customer issues and activities, prepare and present organized sales presentations to customers, develop close relationships with all levels of a customer’s organization, and close on new business opportunities. Position will have direct interface with Corporate business managers responsible for the respective product portfolio they will be selling.

To qualify for this position candidates must possess:

  • B. S. Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of proven sales experience, preferably in the Chemical Products or related industry.
  • Must be a self-motivated, proactive individual that is capable of operating independently and able to adjust priorities to meet territory goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Candidate should have ability to use common computer programs and the ability to learn in-house applications.
  • May require up to 50% travel.
