Application Support Engineer

Job Description

Our international client is seeking an Application Support Engineer to work with a small engineering team that is highly regarded within the company.  


We are looking for people with a broad background in multiple technologies, server virtualization, network support, scripting on Linux and/or Windows, a strong work-ethic, a clear communicator and ready to adapt to new tools and new practices as needed by the business. 


Daily:

Works as a liaison and escalation point for clients and other IT organizations as a subject matter expert across the business and application towers for the business processes they represent .  Understands the customer relationship tool which can be used to log/monitor the issues or problems faced by customers by the means of incident management tickets.


Job Requirements

Expertise in processes for resolving and preventing application and infrastructure outages
Strong Knowledge of Web Applications architecture for operational purposes
Strong Knowledge of Database operations
Strong Knowledge of Wireless Network (cellular preferred) operations
Preferred Telematics, Telemetry, Fleet Management or IT Applications operations experience
Understanding of Oracle or RDBMs as well as Java applications
