Job Description

General Purpose:


The IT Systems Engineer is primarily responsible for identifying, developing and implementing projects and initiatives to meet customer technology needs.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:


          Respond to inquiries from staff and management to help them resolve any hardware or software problems.

          Maintain appropriate records of all logged issues.

          Support users in the use of IT equipment by providing appropriate coaching/training and advice.

          Be involved in the maintenance of a list of suppliers/sub-contractors that may be required to assist in the resolution of more complex technical problems; arrange support as appropriate by liaison with the suppliers.

          Have input to recommending suitable software/hardware where these may improve performance.

          Manage and Implement changes to all network switches and routers.

          Ensure at all times that every Production seat is operational

          The list of responsibilities may not be all-inclusive and can be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities, as needed.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 •   Experience configuring and administering Cisco ASA Firewall Systems, Cisco Switches and Routers. Strong working knowledge of Cisco IOS.
•    Strong working knowledge of Microsoft server 2003 and 2008, Microsoft Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange systems.
•    Experience installing and supporting server side applications such as Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Lync, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft Team Foundation Server.
•    Prior experience configuring and administering Internet Filtering and Intrusion Protection Systems.
•    Understanding of wide area networks and network VLANs. Understanding of traffic shaping and QoS principles..
•    Working knowledge of telecommunications systems. Experience with dealing with call flow design and implementation in a large scale call center environment.
•    Experience with Internet Information Services and the installation and maintenance of web servers and web based services.
•    Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications.


Education/Experience and/or Training:

•    Associate’s degree in Computer Science, equivalent experience may substitute.
•    5+ years’ experience supporting customer solutions in a technical customer service environment, with experience in emerging technologies.
•    Professional Level Certifications, considered a plus.
