Job Description

An established, successfull elementary charter school has a position to fill in:


LAN & End User Support 

CCS LAN support position includes:


Functions needed to maintain the school’s Local Area Network at optimal performance in collaboration with support of off-site LAN Manager

 

Servers including: 2008 Microsoft Hyper-V virtual servers, domain controllers, SQL, Applications, Ed, mail, and Web 

Student database and testing systems

Computer/copier/printer/phone & voicemail set up & troubleshooting

End user and classroom technology support. 

Audio and visual for presentations and events 


Special projects

 

Participation in school safety plan and front line enforcement in school office


On-site support of: Microsoft Windows/Active Directory and all related hardware & software and User groups with support of off-site LAN Manager

School Webpage administration

Microsoft Exchange management with support of off-site LAN Manager. 

Network security and enforcement of CIPA – Children’s Internet Protection Act

PCI compliance & SSL certificates

Backups

On call system maintenance. Must respond after hours and remotely as problems arise

School photographer and videographer as needed/assigned.

Research, recommend, and implement Network Infrastructure expansions, refinements, improvements, & replacements as approved by management.

 



Job Requirements

Experience working in education preferred

The perfect candidate for this position must:


Posses excellent written and verbal communication skills

Be a self starter that intiates and embraces responsibility for operational outcome.s

Be a multi-tasker that enjoys challenges and diversity and posses good time management skills.

Possess a flexible schedule in order to prioritize school emergencies, events, and student needs.


Be on call for system maintenance and respond after hours.

Love children and be passionate about being part of a positive school culture 

Have advanced level computer and technology skills in a Windows based environment

 

Adhere to best practices and ethical decision making according to all school policies as well as all legal and industry regulations and norms.

 

Organizational skills allowing efficient prioritization  

 

Exercise confidentiality and discretion in all matters.

 

Prioritize patience and integrity in all matters

 

 Addition expectations of a LAN Support Professional

 

  • Diligent in documentation of processes and records. Easily able to communicate this progress to management in frequent meetings for planning & progress updates.
  • Prepare IT Dashboard monthly with supplemental documentation with more detail as appropriate and needed for monthly Board of Directors Meetings
