Payroll Specialist

Job Description

Position Overview

Experienced only. Work side by side with the Director of Payroll. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Process bi-weekly payrolls for 3 companies, one of which is a Union member
  2. Complete all subsequent payroll functions including, but not limited to, filing, general ledger entries, union dues payments, etc.
  3. Responsible for checking all payroll related insurance invoices using spreadsheets that have been formatted to do so and reporting same to the accounting department
  4. Work on various projects to keep the managers informed of their team with regards to Paid Time Off and other pertinent details
  5. Compile paperwork for new hires and terminations as necessary
  6. Assist as needed in all payroll, accounting and human resource projects.

 

Job Requirements


  1. A Minimum of 2-3 years office administration and/or payroll related experience necessary
  2. Ability to follow instructions as given
  3. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  5. Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized.  Must be punctual and reliable
  6. Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers
  7. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  8. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse groups. Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as mentioned in item number 2
  9. Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing, implementing and follow-up skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date
  10. Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations
  11. Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation


Compensation

Excellent compensation, commensurate with experience which includes a generous benefit package.
