Job Description

PREMIER is looking for an MES/Automation Engineer for the greater Nashville area.

As an MES/Automation Engineer in the Industrial Automation and Integration Services industry, you are part of an industry that is growing and on the cutting edge of technology in production and manufacturing environments. The MES/Automation Engineer provides technical leadership and coordination in the design, development and implementation of complex industrial applications, databases, and information systems meeting PREMIER and customer requirements and team standards.


 

Responsible for assisting in all phases of assigned MES projects, including requirements gathering, detailed design, development, commissioning, documentation, and user training.   Individual will also need to be capable of mentoring others on the Wonderware MES suite of applications while performing project execution tasks. 


 

The MES/Automation Engineer is expected to develop into a technical authority with a firm grasp of project management principles and tools, mentoring and commercial skills.


 

Must have a strong work ethic and be willing to travel up to 20% of the time. Must be willing to work in a plant environment up to 30% of the time.


Job Requirements

  • A minimum of a B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum 3 years MES Application experience
  • Expertise in MES design, development, and implementation
  • Experience with customer requirements and specification development
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks, have excellent attention to detail, and be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly
  • Must be able to work successfully in a matrix structure, focused strongly on customer service and personnel growth
  • Must have experience successfully interacting and working with customers at multiple levels of responsibility in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Must have solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be willing to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Must be willing to work in a plant environment up to 30% of the time
  • Successful completion of drug screen and background check is required
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. PREMIER is not currently accepting work visas.


Pluses:

  • Experience with Wonderware IAS and MES API scripting is a plus
  • Experience with MS SQL Server, including SSRS a plus
  • Experience with .NET development (C# preferred)
  • Other MES platform experience is a plus (i.e. Rockwell and/or Parsec)
