Job Description

AM/NS Calvert is seeking an early career Electrical Maintenance engineer to support our developing processing operations in Calvert, Alabama.

Our Specialist, Electrical Maintenance will be responsible for:

Ensuring the readiness and availability of the electrical functionality of the production lines
• Ensuring the readiness of the electrical maintenance and the line improvement
• Troubleshooting
• Ensuring the utilization and availability of Electrical Spare Parts under the point quality and costs
• Encourage flexibility and enhance skills and responsibility within the Shift Electricians
• Ensuring the coordination and cooperation with the Specialists Mechanical Maintenance
• Ensuring the compliances regarding occupational safety and
environmental protection
• Setup periodically maintenance tasks

• Ensure working knowledge of competencies as defined in ISO 9001:2008, 14001:2004 Team Member Competency Forms


DAILY TASKS PERFORMED
• Assist in the day to day mill requirements
• Clarify sources for maintenance disturbances in cooperation with the electrical maintenance personnel
• Supporting and troubleshooting unscheduled maintenance activities direct at the lines together with the shift electricians
• Planning of the scheduled maintenance mill shut downs regarding the whole electrical activities of the various mills, including Hot Strip Mill (HSM), Cold Roll Mill (CRM), and Hot Dip Galvanizing Lines (HDGL)
• Take care and support the SAP Preventive Maintenance (PM) System regarding electrical maintenance items


Job Requirements

Our Specialist, Electrical Maintenance will have or demonstrate:


Minimum Job Relevant Knowledge

  • Electrical and mechanical acumen with industrial machinery


Minimum Job Relevant Experience

  • 0-3 years of electrical maintenance experience with heavy industrial machinery


Degree/Certification Required

  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, or combination of post-secondary education and related work experience


Required Skills

  • Knowledge of motors and drives (VVVF converters) and technological functions
  • Knowledge in sensor actor systems, field bus systems (Profibus, CAN bus), decentralized I/O Systems (ET200)
  • Knowledge in PLC (S7, HPCi)
  • Knowledge in process data acquisition systems (IBA), HMI systems (Wonder Ware, WinCC)
  • Understanding of technology functions
  • Knowledge in Network Technology (Ethernet)
  • Knowledge in X-Ray measurement systems


Desired Skills and Abilities

  • Well developed communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel & PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong college grade point average and involvement in related Intern or Co-op work assignment
  • Interest and ability to work at our site operations in Calvert, Alabama (near Mobile, and the glorious Gulf Coast!)
