Job Description:

Manage all financial activities for company’s offices in Louisville and Cincinnati strategic market area (SMA).  Provide business advice to management at all levels.  Assist local management in the measurement and correction of performance in order to achieve operational and strategic goals.



a)      Manages financial activities, including: ad hoc financial analysis; preparation of periodic financial statements in coordination with corporate resources; completion of monthly and annual closings; compliance with accounting policies and procedures; management of fixed assets; control of inventory levels; assistance with credit management; and oversight of accounts payable.

b)      Acts as conscience of local and division management by communicating issues timely, appropriately, and courageously when necessary.

c)      Prepares annual operating plans and regular forecast updates in cooperation with local management.

d)     Supports business development activities with strategic insight and financial modeling.

e)      Operates as business advisor to local and division management as appropriate; consults and participates in strategic and capital plan development, advises on sales and operations issues, counsels, coaches and serves as confidant.

f)       Coordinates training activities, including systems training and policy/procedures training.

g)      Oversees specific human resource activities in conjunction with HR field representatives: rationalizing staffing and headcount, assisting in disciplinary actions, and control of payroll process.

h)      Assists internal audit through local audits of location controls.

i)        May be called upon by the local or division manager to perform other duties not listed above.



Work is performed at job locations, customers’ offices and SMA office.  Intermittent sitting, standing and walking, with minimal dangers and hazards.

Job Requirements


Minimal physical strain.  May require significant travel to sites within scope of responsibility.



Internal – All areas of the corporation.  Reports to the division controller; dotted line to SMA manager.

External – Owners/customers, neighbors, vendors, industry professionals and auditors.



a)      Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, advanced degrees or certifications a plus.

b)      Knowledge of operations, financial and accounting practices, and administrative/personnel functions.


c)      3-5 years experience in construction aggregates industry or similar mining industry.
