Blood Bank - Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist

South Texas Blood & Tissue Center
is seeking a

Blood Bank - Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist


to work at our fixed site locations in San Antonio, TX.


Responsibilities / Expectations for the Blood Bank- Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist include:
  • Greet donors in a pleasing, professional manner.
  • Conduct medical history interview.
  • Perform medical screening procedures:
      -blood pressures
      -pulse
      -temperature
      -HGB
  • Determine donor eligibility.
  • Perform venipuncture & monitor donors during the collection process.
  • Ensure all necessary records are legible, accurate and complete.
  • Assist in the loading, unloading, setting up, taking down and reloading of mobile equipment.

Schedule: Variable days & hours; including evenings & weekends

Occasional out of town and overnight stays required

    Job Requirements


    Requirements for the Blood Bank- Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist include:
      Education / Qualifications:
      • High School Diploma
      • 1 year Medical education preferred
      • Must be capable of performing screening, phlebotomy, donor care and data entry procedures.

      Knowledge / Experience:
      • Medical background preferred
