Job Description

The Financial Aid Representative is responsible for conducting outbound financial aid welcome calls to assist students in acquiring an FSA PIN and other documents needed in advance of their first financial aid appointment. In addition, the agent is responsible for interviewing, packaging, processing and tracking financial aid activities while maintaining inter-departmental communication, as well as respond efficiently and timely to the students’ financial aid needs. The agent will work with students enrolled at all Vatterott schools to include L’Ecole Culinaire and the Court Reporting Institutes. This position will handle inbound and outbound calls and online Financial Aid packaging processes.

 

This position is based at the Financial Aid Call Center located at the Kansas City, Missouri campus.


 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist students with PIN application and items needed for financial aid appointment.

     

  2. Assist students with the financial aid process by advising them on available financial aid:

    1. Communicate with the student the amount and sources of aid, as well as how the eligibility is determined and disbursed.

    2. Advise students or rights and responsibilities pertaining to all sources of aid.

    3. Processes paperwork to ensure aid arrives as scheduled.

       

  3. Actively communicates the status of the process with other departments, including: Admissions, Registrar, and Accounting.

     

  4. Coordinate Title IV programs with other assistance that are not related-i.e. Veteran’s Benefits, scholarships.

     

  5. Complete administrative duties and other projects as assigned.

     

  6. Regular and consistent attendance

 

 


 

Job Requirements

For this position a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 1-2 years of experience in Financial Aid packaging is preferred. 3-4 years of Financial Aid packaging experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. The position requires personal computer skills (Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel, and Outlook). Excellent spelling and grammar skills with the ability to communicate in a courteous, tactful and concise manner, is essential.
