Adolescent Substance Abuse Counselor

Bridgeway Behavioral Health’s, Bridges to Success program is seeking a full time Chemical Dependency Counselor to provide outpatient substance abuse treatment services to adolescents in Olivette. This individual MUST have paid experience working primarily with drug and alcohol addictions treatment and rehabilitation for adolescent clients. This is a Monday through Thursday position with evenings required.

  • Participate in team planning and clinical staffing of all adolescent clients.
  • Provide direct treatment and case management of adolescent clients in individual and group settings.
  • Conduct individual and group therapy for clients with drug and alcohol dependency.
  • Provide family counseling and family conferences adjunct to the treatment of the adolescent client.
  • Facilitate the transitional process of the adolescent client throughout the phases of the treatment program. This responsibility may include but is not limited to monitoring client clinical progress, assessment and modification of treatment needs/goals and, promotion of positive pro-social activities.
  • Provide and maintain complete documentation of all provided services and clinical information.
  • Promote and maintain productive working relationships with other service provider agencies and provide community based services as needed.
  • Conduct adolescent intake evaluations.

Job Requirements

  • A counselor, social worker, psychologist or physician who is licensed or provisionally licensed in Missouri practicing within their scope of work with at least one year of full time experience in the treatment of persons with substance abuse;


    • RSAP, CCJAP, CSAC I or II (CADC, CRADC) or CASAC (CRAADC) as acknowledged by the Missouri Substance Abuse Professional Credentialing Board, Inc.
    • Has a minimum of two years qualified full time experience in the education and treatment of substance abuse in adolescents.
    • Must prove proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Windows XP.

Salary Range for a qualified counselor: $32,000/year - $36,000/year

Salary Range for a licensed counselor: $36,000/year - $40,000/year
