Job Description

Both experienced/well-credentialed and entry-level English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructors sought for freelance teaching in our private language centers in Aventura, Boca Raton, Doral, Downtown Miami, Weston and other South Florida locations. Our modern, state-of-the-art facilities are conveniently located throughout the state of Florida (with ten language centers located throughout the Orlando, Tampa and Miami-Fort Lauderdale areas).

All independent contractor instructor positions include opportunities for advancement and merit-based bonuses. To apply for this position, please e-mail your resume as an attachment. Most new Senior ESL instructors with full availability teach from 15 to 25 hours per week (more weekly hours are possible for instructors with availability to teach in multiple locations). Most new entry-level ESL instructors will full availability teach from 10 to 20 hours per week.

Please do not apply to this position unless you currently live in the South Florida area and are available to work in one or more of our South Florida language centers. While some evening-only positions may be available (especially in our Doral location), we currently need instructors with substantial morning and afternoon availability.

The pay rate for this position for fully-qualified senior ESL instructor applicants is $20.00 per instructional hour. The starting pay rate for entry-level ESL instructor applicants is $16.00 per instructional hour.

Job Requirements

Important Note: Please be sure that you meet all job requirements before submitting your application. Please note that applicants who do not meet our minimum requirements as described below will not be considered. Thank you for your cooperation.

(1) All applicants must have excellent (native or near-native) proficiency in English. Complete command of the lexicon and grammar of spoken and written Standard English is required for approval to teach.

Senior ESL Instructors:

(2) All applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or higher in TESOL or a closely-related field (such as Linguistics/Applied Linguistics, EFL/ESL/TEFL/TESL, Language Education, etc.) and have substantial, verifiable prior teaching experience at the adult education or postsecondary level. Applicants who have not yet been awarded the requisite bachelor's degree from a fully accredited, reputable college or university will not be considered under any circumstances. Applicants with a good master's degree in-field and substantial prior ESL teaching experience will be given strong preference in the selection process and will qualify for our highest starting rate. Please note that national accreditation requirements prohibit us from considering applicants who do not have a credential in the requisite field. If you do not currently hold a degree or certificate (such as a CELTA, TEFL Certificate, Graduate Certificate in TESOL, etc.) in TESOL/ESL/TEFL, Linguistics/Applied Linguistics, Language Education or a closely related field, please do not submit an application for this position (however, you may still qualify for the Entry-Level ESL Instructor position, as described below).

Entry-Level ESL Instructors:

(2) All applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or higher in any field from a fully accredited, reputable college or university, possess strong verbal skills and have demonstrable aptitude to teach English to adults. Applicants with prior teaching experience (English or content areas) will be given priority in the application and hiring process.

(3) All applicants must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

If you do not currently reside in Florida, please wait until you have completed your relocation to the area before applying. We greatly appreciate your cooperation.
