Director, Specialty Diagnostics Marketing

Job Description

The Director, Specialty Diagnostics Marketing will be primarily responsible for all aspects of commercialization for marketing for the Platelet and Coagulation product line out of the Waukesha site. The Director is specifically accountable for the establishment of  commercial plans and strategies and for the attainment of market share goals, brand position, pricing policy and objectives, new product commercialization and competitive intelligence for all the  specialty diagnostics line.  Accountable for the strategic planning and tactical execution necessary to meet regional revenue, profit, and customer satisfaction goals while managing the sale of the specialty diagnostics line. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work in concert with R&D, sales management, external customers, external thought leaders, and internal  teams to establish objectives and develop business strategies needed to enhance the leadership and achieve high growth for  the Company’s  specialty diagnostics products.  Achieve marketing, business development and P & L objectives and develop tactical strategies required to accelerate growth and expand current market position.

    Expedite growth and initiate innovative approaches to improving revenue, profitability and market share.  Be a change agent for the entire organization in terms of thinking about marketing and commercialization.

    Successfully launch all new products and achieve a level of commercial leadership with existing products that meet or exceeds performance expectations.  In conjunction with Executive Leadership, develop business strategies required for the Company to achieve or exceed all revenue, profitability and market share objectives.

    Work closely with R&D and other relevant departments to develop product strategies to reinforce and enhance the road map to support the business strategy.

    Develop the annual operating plan for the business, monitor performance against plan and take corrective action as needed.

    Work closely with the senior management team relative to thinking openly and creatively about future opportunities.

    Recruit, train and develop a top tier talent and deveop a high performing team to drive the success of the Company.  Create an environment where people will be challenged but will also understand that their professional and personal growth will be met if successful.

    Maintain fiscal responsibility and manage regional expense budget to established guidelines

    Compile and provide an accurate regional forecast by territory for instruments and reagents.

Market Share

•Develops and implements commercial market plans and programs; both short and long term, to increase Immucor’s market share in strategic areas, and to be the market leader in each of the areas.

•Establishes methods and mechanisms to measure Immucor’s market share in each market segment.

•Champions the Marketing /Business Plan within the organization.

Product Line Growth and Profitability

•Sets annual and long range goals for revenue growth and profitability

•Establishes appropriate plans and programs to achieve goals.

•Monitors progress to growth and profitability goals and intercedes as appropriate to ensure achievement.

 

New Product Success

•Builds and maintains appropriate systems to ensure high impact and effective new product launches.

•Develop product road consistent with strategic plan, and effectively execute on the plan.

•Sets goals for new products both in terms of specific product growth and profitability as well as contribution of new products as a whole to the company's financial performance.

 

Market/Competition Knowledge and Intelligence

•Establishes and maintains appropriate systems and mechanisms to competitive advantage through superior understanding of market trends, beliefs, perceptions, behaviors, and scope as well as competitor actions, strengths, weaknesses, and plans.

 

•Communicates broadly throughout the company regarding the above to ensure appropriate base of market and competitor understanding in strategic and operational plans.

•Participates in the formulation of the company's strategic and long-range plans.

•Complies with and supports all company health, safety, and other standards and practices.

•Continuously reviews all aspects of the marketing, commercial, business development organization and implements any necessary improvements in staff quality and support requirements


Job Requirements

  • Masters Degree or Equivalent
  • 4-10 years related experience and/or training
  • Ability to read analyse and interpet the most complex documents
