Manufacturing Engineer                                                                       


 

The Manufacturing Engineer major focus is directed to manufacturing systems, processes, standards, tooling, and new technology by conducting moderately complex engineering projects which will obtain the most efficient and timely manufacturing process while providing technical support to production operations.

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering with emphasis in industrial, mechanical, agricultural, and/or electrical disciplines or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-4 years of manufacturing engineering experience, or a related Master’s Degree with 1-2 years of work experience.
  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and capabilities, including JIT, CAD/CAM, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and desire achieved success.
  • Regular attendance is an essential requirement for the job. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Develop and implement new processes to improve efficiencies, increase productivity, increase throughput, and improve quality throughout the manufacturing processes.
  2. Reviews item routing for process costing, capacity planning, cost reduction and/or methods to establish baseline for improvements.
  3. Works with Quality to analyze, document, and implement recommendations for correction of process failures.
  4. Develops proposals for justification and review of capital equipment and provide technical assistance to bring equipment on line within cost and timing guidelines.
  5. Recommends design concepts for individual parts and processes to improve cost or productivity.
  6. Accumulates and develops data to establish process data labor values directly or through instructions to others.
  7. Participates on new product development/launch or early warning teams.
  8. Provides assistance and technical support to the plant in all areas related to quality.
  9. Develops and utilizes skills necessary to serve as a leader or participate in a team environment.

10.  Develops pre-determined labor standards using MTM or equivalent

11.  Must have understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts

12.  Designs work flow using line balancing techniques.

 

Desired Skills:

Strong Technical Knowledge relating to manufacturing of steel components.  (Fabrication, Welding, Painting, Assembly)

Strong PC Skills- Microsoft Office programs, AutoCad, Pro-E preferred

Good Communication Skills both oral and written.

Ability to work with a wide range of people.
