Job Description:
The Market Manager is responsible for coordinating the successful setup, overall operation, and post-season tear down of up to 5 temporary Halloween retail stores within a specified geographic zone. Supervises, mentors and trains staff to ensure maximum sales volume and EBITDA is achieved. Creates an environment that exemplifies courtesy, respect, and professionalism to Customers and Associates by adhering to all policies and procedures established by Halloween City. 

Primary Functions 

• Market Setup 
- Ensure designated store opening dates are achieved while staying in budget 
- Obtain required city permits, coordinate store repairs, and schedule required city inspections as needed 
- Enter site survey information, bank locations, trailer assets and historical data into CARLA database 
- Assist the Permitting and Signage department as directed to ensure timely install of exterior store signage 
- Draft basic shell' layouts per company specifications, submit to Zone Manager to develop store build and merchandise plans 
- Assist the Facilities Management Group in the store build outs, install POS and store IT systems 
- Coordinate Job Fairs for associates, hire, train, counsel and develop Store Management Teams for advancement 

• Daily Operations 
- Oversee and direct Store Management Teams 
- Set standard of excellence for Customer Service during store visits 
- Mandatory office day for analyzing reports, planning, organizing and following up on store concerns and emails 
- Proactively monitor store payroll, budgets and weekly scheduling, taking required corrective action 
- Verify accuracy and prompt approval of all store level time clock punches in E-time 
- Meet/exceed Halloween City sales goals by driving sales using corporate sales initiatives such as, item of the day, contests and email collection by ensuring compliance of staff 
- Utilize Exception Reports and Store Visit Guide to ensure store compliance and controls are in place to reduce shrinkage 
- Follow up during store visits to ensure Company policies are being enforced such as the Own Your Zone program, Training initiatives, Weekly Planner, Corporate Broadcasts, and Visual Merchandise standards 
- Assess inventory, make recommendations to Inventory Management Team and assist in moving inventory to balance store levels via transfers or other means 
- Regularly process damaged and defective items and complete corresponding inventory adjustments 
- Seek out local marketing opportunities for market, and support Corporate marketing initiatives such as Business to Business 
- Maintain constant communication with Zone Manager and Corporate contacts via phone and email 
- Provide weekly email updates to Zone Manager summarizing Market level successes and opportunities 
- Conduct weekly conference calls with Store Management Teams driving Company initiatives 
- Enforce energy management/conservation policies in all locations 
- Request additional training if it is deemed necessary 

• End of Season 
- Designate teams, plan and direct end of season physical inventory, tear-down and pack up of Market 
- Schedule final walk-through with Landlords, return properties in better condition than received 
- Complete all end of season reports, including termination reports to ensure that all Associates are terminated correctly and paid on time per state specific requirements 
- Prepare succession plan for following year and identify top performers

Job Requirements

Other Functions 

• Punctual weekly expense reporting consistent with company guidelines 
• Responsible for protection and return of Company assets including store keys, rental car (if applicable), IPhone, netbook, flash drive, etc 
• Ability to assist in the setup and tear-down of other local, temporary locations 
• Perform additional Zone/Market duties and responsibilities as assigned 

Working Conditions 
• The responsibilities of this position may require the associate to work extended hours during any given week. Flexibility in times/days 
available to work is essential. Extended periods of driving and overnight travel may be required. 
• Work environment tends to be fast paced. Frequent and direct interaction with Customers and Associates. Exposure to fluorescent rays from light fixtures as well as computers and cash register screens. Some exposure to dust/dirt due to product storage. 

Physical Requirements 

• This position will require long periods of standing with frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Will require the ability to climb a ladder and/or reach and move boxes/objects from various storage heights. Individual must be able to lift and/or move objects with weights of 0-50 lbs.
