Job Requirements

Our company provides 24x7 onsite data center hardware service. This requires Service Engineers to drive to the customer site whenever a call is placed. The engineer is reimbursed for travel expenses as they use their own vehicle for travel. Travel consists of service calls typically within a 100 mile range as well as periodic training, at times out of state. When on call, the field engineer may have to drive to any one of these locations at any time of day or night.


The successful candidate must be results oriented, customer focused, possess strong technical and mechanical aptitudes and have the ability to work independently on multiple issues.



In the Field Service Engineer position, the candidate will:

  • Maintain and service data center hardware equipment (primarily mid to high-end servers and other storage devices)
  • Provide top-notch service to our customers to ensure 100% customer loyalty
  • Manage the hardware maintenance needs of their assigned accounts
  • Be passionate about helping people and fixing problems
  • Have strong technical skills with at least a basic knowledge of computer hardware
  • Understand and practice pro-active service methodology
  • Engage other departments when appropriate (i.e. Purchasing , Support, Sales)

Knowledge or experience servicing and maintaining any of the following mid to high-end server platforms preferred: 

  • Hewlett Packard HP9000/3000
  • IBM RS6000/AS400
  • DEC VAX/Alpha
  • SUN Sunfire/Enterprise
  • Compaq Proliant/HP Netserver
