Job Description:


We seek a leader in maintenance for our beautiful property The Mews in Durham, NC who possesses integrity, intelligence, and maturity.  A Palms Associates’ Maintenance Technician:


  • Performs diagnosis and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, gutters, and external and internal lighting.
  • Performs make-ready repairs and services and ensures repairs are completed correctly and on schedule.  Prioritizes quick delivery of sparkling units ready for occupancy.
  • Demonstrates superior customer service in order to help set our community apart from our competition.
  • Assists with grounds upkeep to make certain areas are well-groomed for outstanding curb appeal.
  • Services pool and related maintenance.
  • Responsible for Identifying and reporting all major repairs and requisitions to maintenance supervisor.     
  • Seeks personal growth and development through on-site education and training.
  • Collaborates with leasing staff to promote the property’s optimal success.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in HVAC
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • HVAC certification; applicants without HVAC certification will not be considered for this position
  • Dedication to outstanding customer service 
  • Ability  to diagnose and repair most residential electric, plumbing, carpentry, roofing, and flooring
  • Competent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work rotating, on-call work schedule
  • Physical requirements include frequent need to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.  Objects over 50 lbs. must be accomplished with assistance from one or more persons.
  • Palms Associates requires the following pre-employment screening paid for by the company: background, drug, and fitness-for-duty testing.  Testing is performed after an offer of employment is made.
