Merchandise Assistant


This is a full time position with working hours of  Monday –Friday 9:00 am -5:00 pm to include weekends, holidays and overtime as required with benefits after successful completion of a 60 day  introductory period. This is a promotional opportunity and is an internal/external recruitment.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:   Under the overall direction of the VP of Merchandise & Food /Beverage, provide administrative support to the Merchandise Department with particular emphasis on the Ecommerce/Graceland online store, Graceland retail stores, Merchandise buying process, and special Merchandise projects. Duties and responsibilities include:

 

  • Enter and maintain ecommerce attributes (categorization, profiles, ecommerce item description, etc.) for each item as directed.
  • Enter, proof, and edit feature and benefits copy for each ecommerce item (detailed descriptions, content, origin, html translation, etc.).
  • Manage samples and keep track of status (item number labeling, image status, weights, etc.) as it relates to ecommerce.
  •  Individually input weight information for each ecommerce item into system to generate shipping costs.
  • Assist with ecommerce photography process which includes editing and uploading each photo to be shown.
  • Prepare weekly forecasting reports for all areas
  • Assist with purchase order entry, confirmations, and maintenance for all areas.
  • Responsible for following up on purchase order shipping to ensure all orders are received in a timely manner.
  • Assist in resolving any receiving/invoice errors with the appropriate vendor and buyer.
  • Maintain and organize all item, purchase order, receiving, and vendor files for Ecommerce and Retail stores.
  • Prepare check requisitions
  • Support merchandising team with additional responsibilities as needed/required

Job Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office—Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access.  Adobe Photoshop experience a plus; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, internally and externally; detail oriented, self-starter, highly motivated with a proven ability to multi task and maintain organization in a fast paced environment.  Must be able to meet deadlines independently and collaboratively; retail experience a plus.  Knowledge of general office equipment and procedures; must have excellent typing, filing, and computer skills; ability to perceive and deal with sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality; ability to deal successfully with a wide range of people; Associates or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMNTS:  Ability to speak clearly and distinctly; stoop, reach, and sit for long periods of time; ability to lift boxes weighing up to 25lbs.

 

 

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:  Work in a no smoking area; work in confidential area.
