User Experience Designer (UXD)

The UX Designer role is a direct hire opportunity with one of our clients in Charlotte, NC. Target salary range is up to $80,000. Local candidates strongly preferred. No sponsorship available.

As the User Experience Designer, you should have an eye for clean and artful design, possess superior UXD skills and be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts, and transform them into intuitive and functional user interfaces. You will conceptualize, build, and maintain responsive websites and exceptional user experiences for our clients.

Responsibilities of the UX Designer:
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering
  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
  • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
  • Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback
  • Develop new techniques for visual display, information presentation, and consumer experience
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
  • Unwavering attention to detail with an acute awareness that everything counts

  • Committed to learning and expanding professional and technical knowledge
  • Help create experiences that our consumers will love
  • Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually to cross-functional teams
  • Turn ideas into amazing web and mobile designs that delight and compel our consumers by solving important creative and interaction problems end-to-end, being easy and efficient to use
  • Create the vision for developing, communicating, and implementing the user experience and associated UI framework and assets on a range of products, and follow through with the processes and tactics to implement the vision

Job Requirements

Qualifications of the UX Designer:
Education & Experience
  • 5+ years of UXD experience
  • Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
  • Up-to-date with the latest UXD trends, techniques, and technologies
  • BS/MS in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or related

Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
  • Demonstrable UX design skills with a strong portfolio

Computer Skills
  • Proficiency in, Photoshop, CSS, HTML and JavaScript for rapid prototyping
