Interim Controller - Beverly Hills, CA

Job Description

Prestigious client is looking for an Interim Controller to assist with key deliverables in their Beverly Hills office for 2+ months.  The Interim Controller will report to the CFO and will oversee all accounting functions for this professional services firm.  The ideal Controller will have strong leadership qualities and can work independently as well as guide a team.  The Controller must be enthusiastic and have a proven success record empowering teams.  This Controller must have a solid technical and accounting background.

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for month end close process and owns the general ledger

  • Oversees monthly reconciliation and analysis for all balance sheet and income statement accounts

  • Prepare and oversee audit process; monthly and quarterly

  • Perform monthly financial analysis

  • Develop systems as well as processes and procedures that will streamline financial reporting, invoicing and AR billing

  • Maintain and develop as well as monitor all internal controls and new policies and procedures, present to stakeholders

  • Must have prior experience with time billing, billable hours

  • After identifying any gaps or over flow in headcount, Controller will be asked to assess the situation and make recommendations

  • Assess and propose systems enhancements and drive process improvement process

  • Understanding GAAP compliance or having a CPA is strongly preferred

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting
  • CPA, preferred but  not required
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to international operations and consolidated financials
  • Strong systems experience
  • Excel: pivots, v-look-ups; Access data modification
  • Auditing skills, with the ability to research and reconcile difficult accounts
  • Detail oriented and organized in work
  • Experience in professional setting is required
