E&I Engineers ~ St. Louis, MO


  • Multiple openings for E&I Engineers in our Client’s Project Engineering Organization.  In these roles, the successful candidates will be key members and work with capital project teams, operations, and maintenance to provide electrical and instrument expertise in support of capital and expense projects. 
  • Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment in support of capital projects.
  • Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments and electrical equipment throughout the plant.
  • Develop scopes of work to provide to estimating for completion of Technical Service Requests from our customers.
  • Conduct field surveys and perform general troubleshooting to identify and correct E&I problems.
  • Participate on capital project teams as the lead E&I engineer.
  • Direct Maintenance, Construction, and Operations in the E&I documentation and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and performance requirements.
  • Perform necessary calculations in order to correctly specify E&I equipment.
  • Inspect completed installations and observe operation to ensure conformance to design, equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.

Job Requirements

  • Prepare and study technical drawings and specifications of electrical systems.
  • Plan layout of electric power generating plants and distribution lines and stations.
  • For our I&C Engineer role, should be experienced in specifying, designing, configuring, testing, and commissioning DCS and PLC based control systems and HMI/SCADA systems, control panels, junction boxes, and marshalling panels as well as the development of control system wiring diagrams and layout drawings, generating equipment specifications, and interpreting client specifications and industry standards.  
  • Prefer design and configuration experience with Honeywell TDC 3000 and/or Honeywell Experion DCS and a minimum of 5 years of control system design and configuration experience within the refining, chemical, and/or process industry. 
  • Assist in developing the E&I portion of capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
  • 7-12 years’ work experience within Oil and Gas Refinery / Chemical Plant/Manufacturing industrial environment preferred.
  • Must have Microstation or AutoCad knowledge.  Will be using these tools as part of daily duties.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Chemical Engineering (or related field)
