Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, performs both routine and component testing to support total lab operations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

·         Performs strain gage layout and preparation.
·         Performs panel layout, machining, photographing, conditioning and general specimen    
          inspection
·         Performs instrumentation and testing of a mix of standard test specimens.
·         Performs test data processing utilizing MS Word and MS Excel.

·         Performs calculations, analysis of recordings, and verification of test results to standards.

·         Assembles and calibrates standardized material testing stations.

·         Utilizes standard precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and vernier 
          calipers.        

 

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma, 2 year Mechanical engineering degree maximum


QUALIFICATIONS

Strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to perform advanced math calculations.

Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Ability to relate to topics which require an acute understanding or specialized knowledge.

Ability to pay meticulous attention to all aspects of a situation or task, no matter how small or seemingly unimportant.

Maximum weight lifting requirement is 50lbs

Standing to sitting time ratio is 80:20, respectively
Ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs of various mechanical systems with direction.
