Med Techs, Part-time and Full-time

Job Description

HarborChase of Sterling Heights has an immediate need for part-time and full-time Med Techs. 


The successful candidates must enjoy working with seniors and make a personal effort to treat them with the respect and dignity they so deserve.   Candidates must also be able to communicate in English and be able to understand written instructions when necessary.  Other responsibilities include:

  • Checks each of the 6 rights of medication administration 3 different times
  • Assists with meds to residents according to their Medication Observation Record (MOR)
  • Maintains a neat, clean, organized med cart/cabinet and restocks as needed
  • Observes residents for any adverse reaction to meds and alerts supervisor immediately
  • Disposes infectious and/or potentially waste accordingly to guidelines
  • Can demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures

    Job Requirements


     Good working knowledge of Medication Observation Record (MOR)

     Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Bi-lingual a plus

     Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, residents, family members, and outside contacts

     Clerical and typing skills including typing, data entry, filing, etc. required

     Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook software preferred

     Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology preferred

         Able to make independent decisions

     Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizens


     High school diploma or equivalent with state specific training required for the position

     Must obtain valid Continuing Education credits as required by the state (if applicable)


     Minimum of one (1) year experience

     Experience in a long-care community and/or geriatric nursing preferred

     Experience in emergency care and first-aid preferred
